Zephyranthes sp. 'El Cielo' is an undescribed Mexican species collected by Yucca Do Nursery. This species, like Z. species 'Labuffa Rose', seems to appreciate decent soil, adequate water and can handle a bit of shade better than is typical for Zephyranthes. It offsets quickly. The flowers are of good size and have an unusual, for a Zephyranthes, open & 'spokey' appearance. Generally, pollen production seems limited but this particular bloom had a generous amount.—Paul Niemi, Jr.
