Blooming in November in Lehavim Nature Reserve, S Israel. This protected species is found in several dozens site along Israel.

During its blooming time, many of its sites are places of pilgrim for nature lovers.

This is a large flowered autumnal hysteranthous bulb. It ranges from Israel to Iraq and Turkey. In Israel it is rather rare and protected. At the Jerusalem Botanical Gardens we grow plants rescued from building sites. It is almost extinct form the Jerusalem area.
