Romulea sabulosa Cultivated at the Jerusalem Botanical Gardens. Dr Ori Fragman-Sapir (March 24, 2006)
Although the seed of this came to us as Romulea monadelpha, I think it is Romulea sabulosa. Gary Buckley Romulea sabulosa from Bill Dijk BX seed. YEA!! Luckily we had a few days of nice warm weather so it could open up. It looked ready for days before it finally was warm enough and I only got to see the interesting outside. It is raining now so I don't know when or if I might see it again. I also thought it was interesting to note than when it first opens those sort of gold portions on the tepals are much more noticeable (lost somewhat in the scanning.) A day later it looks mostly black in the center. So it would depend on when you saw it how it would look. Mary Sue Ittner (Feb 16, 2002)
