Lycoris
rosea

James W. Waddick (Sep 4, 2001)
I took this "L.
rosea' yesterday. It is much ricer than L.
haywardii which is blooming now, too. The form looks right,
but the color is more intense than I thought it was/should be.

The Lycoris species and hybrids have been excellent this season. Apart
from their elegant beauty, again they make good cut-flowers. These are
just a few of the many species and hybrids that are flowering at the moment.
All the Lycoris bulbs came from Jim Waddick and have acclimatised well
to our NZ conditions. They make a splendid Autumn display and garden subject
this time of the year when there requirements are met.
