Now here's a really curious one: Lachenalia pusilla (syn. Polyxena
pusilla which makes more sense to me). This would probably be consigned
to the "of botanical interest only" category but for the fact
that it is very strongly scented - and it is kind of cute I guess. Another
South African which according to Barbara Jeppe often grows in large colonies
in sandy soil. In cultivation it does fine in my standard potting mix.
Haven't tried planting any out yet for fear of never being able to find
them again!
