Iris x sibtosa

This particular cross was SKY WINGS (SIB) X I. setosa canadensis. The size of bloom and height of the plant is about midway between the parents (36" and 10" respectively).

She's not as hybrid in appearance as some of the seedlings, but we think she's cute and we can always breed toward the more classic sibtosa look.

One of the last of the F2 setosa/siberica seedlings to bloom this year...

I've been a bit surprised to see that the siberica type stem showed so clearly in this cv. (Setosas bloom at or in the foliage.) The signal is also more like the siberica than the setosa.

Seedlings from the same cross but in the opposite direction are in bloom so now the real fun begins with trying to meld the 2 groups.
