Iris lortetii

Mt Avivim in the Eastern Upper Galilee, near the Israel-Lebanon border.

This is an endangered endemic species, left only in a few sites. There are efforts to declare this site as a new nature reserve.

Iris lortetii is one of the most striking Oncocyclus irises. It is endemic to the Eastern Upper Galilee and Samaria.
