Iris haynei is endemic to Mt Gilboa and eastern Samaria. It was found to change gradually into Iris atrofusca. In this picture you can see a pollinating bee with pollen on its back (taken in Mt Gilboa). During March Mt Gilboa and its irises are a place of pilgrimage for nature lovers.
