Hippeastrum
puniceum barbatum

Nolan Sahuc

Kevin Preuss
This form of
Hippeastrum puniceum was collected from Amazonas, Brazil and
is an understory plant. It grows best under shade (about 60-70%). Possibly
this is not actually H. puniceum. It crosses w/ other diploid
species of Hippeastrum. Asexually, it produces runners w/ bulbils as well
as daughter bulbs. Note the uncharacteristic short stamens and style.
