Griffinia hyacinthina
Griffinia hyacinthina, a native species of the southern portion
of the Brazilian Atlantic Forest (in the states of Sao Paulo
and Rio de Janeiro), is the largest species of the genus.
In the Northern hemisphere, G. hyacinthina seems to flower
in early autumn. A brief drying-off period helped this plant
flower. This species does well in shade with warm, humid conditions.
Cool temps (40-55 F) in the winter may help induce flowering
(?).
