Brodiaea terrestris, commonly called the Earth Brodiaea, is found in grassland and open woodlands in California and in southwest Oregon. The light blue to purple flowers seem to emerge from the ground in umbels from 0-3 inches tall. This photograph was taken on the Mendocino coast near Gualala, California.
