Boophane disticha

Rhoda
Boophone disticha growing in the Thomas River area near Cathcart,
Eastern Cape, in open (rocky and sloping) grassland, full sun. The leaves
are usually more wavy-edged than this specimen. The occasional winter/early
spring grassfires are not fierce and simply scorch the outer tunics a
bit, leaving the exposed bulb unharmed. Fires are said to stimulate flowering.
This species is dormant in winter.
