Asphodelus aestivus

Taken in their own habits (2006 and 2007), around Aix-en-Provence (Bouches-du-Rhone, France), where I live.

One of the commonest Mediterranean bulbs. In Israel it grows in Mediterranean areas and penetrates into transition zones and semidesert. It blooms in winter and early spring – December-February. The white flowers are edible and sweety.
