Androcymbium palaestinum

This small bulb grows in Israel, Jordan & Egypt. It flowers in winter in desert and transition areas between the desert and the Mediterranean area. At the Jerusalem Botanical Gardens we grow it for several years. Under our Mediterranean conditions, each plant blooms for 2 months !

The picture was taken at one of the craters in the eastern part of the Negev Desert (S Israel).
